The Healthiest Green Smoothie Ever
AKA my “flat tummy smoothie”!
This is hands down the healthiest smoothie you can put into your body! WARNING! It’s not sweet. No frozen bananas in this baby. Because it’s very low glycemic, you won’t spike your blood sugar first thing in the morning (if you prefer your smoothies for breakfast). An added bonus is you won’t feel bloated or hungry in 2 hours since it’s so nutrient dense. I find that a lot of fruit makes me bloated, so that’s why I call this my flat tummy tea. No bloating.
If I’m ever trying to fit into a particularly form fitting outfit or bikinis, I’ll add these to my menu every single day leading up to the event. Sometimes it serves as my breakfast, but if I’m fasting that day it will be my lunch. Either way, it’s my first meal of the day! Make this one and let me know what you think! Try to wean yourself from so much sweetness in your smoothies. It may take a couple of days for your palette to adjust, especially if you’re used to loading up on sweets early in the day. Once you get used to it, you’ll be craving it! Ingredients
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 avocado
- half of a cucumber
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 celery stalks
- 1 tbsp flax seed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- sprinkle sea salt
- 1/4 cup water
- a few ice cubes
